All health programs to be analysed to prevent epidemics
Cerner to establish Knowledge Command Centre in AP
On Tuesday, an MoU was signed between the US based company, Cerner and the Department of Health, Medical and Family Welfare (HM&FW). Cerner will supply Health Information Exchange (HIE) services, to analyse data from the ongoing health programs and provide policy recommendations.
The MoU was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister, who expressed his vision of providing every citizen of AP access to their health information through digitisation. A Knowledge Command Centre will be established, to help coordinate the HIE procedures.
Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Advisor to GoAP (Health and Medical Technology) said, “Digitisation will help identify disease hotspots, which can lead to early interventions, and will significantly lower the rate of hospitalization.”
This agreement between the department of HM&FW and Cerner valid for three years, in light of the Chief Minister’s concern for public health and prevention of epidemics, will cost the state government ₹18 lakhs per month.
