CM reviewed progress on Polavaram project
Heavy rains slow down work on irrigation projects across the state
4 pumps to release water into Yeluru reservoir from August 15
The Chief Minister conducted the weekly review on Polavaram and other irrigation projects on Monday. Officials said that the heavy rains last week led to slower progress.
An official from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC or SHAR) gave a detailed forecast on rainfall, soil moisture and weather conditions in the different regions of the state. The Chief Minister told all the officials that the coming dry spells must be used to our advantage and work must speed up.
In a video conference, he virtually reviewed the advancement, with a thorough feedback from Ramesh Babu, the Chief Engineer of Polavaram.
Irrigation projects from other districts were also reviewed in the video conference, and the chief engineers of all districts submitted their brief progress reports to the Chief Minister.
On August 15th, water will be released through at least 4 pumps at the Purushuthapatnam project, and directed to Yeluru reservoir. The Chief Minister has scheduled a visit to the projects at Polavaram and Purushuthapatnam on the third Monday of this month.
