CM meets Professor Solomon Darwin from UC Berkeley University

CM to address pioneers in technology from 5 continents on August 31
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu discussed collaboration between the Andhra Pradesh government, the University of California at Berkeley, and several leading technology organisations. Professor Solomon Darwin intends to take this partnership a level higher by commencing work in 466 villages across 5 districts.
On August 31, KL University will be hosting the “Open Innovation Forum”, which will be attended by leading organisations like NASA, Google and TATA, and leaders from around the world.
The Chief Minister is expected to deliver a speech, and interact with senior executives at a lunch meeting organised by the government, and hosted in KL University.
The proposal to set up a Professional Centre for Development in all the 5 districts, and the detailed plan for conducting skill-development certificate courses, was presented to the Chief Minister.
Twelve corporate partners including IBM, Apollo, Hero, Tech Mahindra and Usha will be facilitating the courses that aim to provide training and placements for the unemployed youth.
A team of around 600 people from different companies have tied up with the SMART villages initiative, and are currently working on ground, to connect the global market to the rural world.
Prof. Darwin also proposed ideas in the fields of entrepreneurship, housing and many specific skill development courses.
The Chief Minister encouraged the ideas, suggesting that more companies should be engaged in the process and innovative models must be implemented, that will guarantee useful skill development for the youth.
“Start working on the set up, and I assure you that the AP State Skill Development Corporation too, will cooperate and organise”, he said.
