CM launches Hospital Linen and Laundry Services programme
Patient- First attitude is a must among doctors and other health care staff
The Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu today launched the Hospital Linen and Laundry Service Programme through live streaming from the Velagapudi Secretariat. Under this service, clean and hygienic bedsheets and pillow covers with colour coded lining strips would be supplied to all hospitals.
The service has been launched for 13200 beds under phase 1 across all Teaching and District hospitals in the State. The Government has outsourced this service to Leotech Process that is based out of Vijayawada. Total cost of this project is 10 crores.
Poor quality linen and irregular washing of bedsheets have led to increased infection rate among patients and to address this issue, the Chief Minister earlier asked the Medical and Health Department to come up with this unique service. Keeping in view the above things, today the linen and laundry services have been launched.
Colour coding is as per the days scheduled as follow;
Violet on Monday, Organe on Tuesday, Magenta on Wednesday, Green on Thursday, Brick red on Friday, Blue on Saturday and Yellow on Sunday.
The above color coding is uniform throughout the State with strict compliance.
The programme will be monitored on a real time basis and it will be reflected on the CM’s core dashboard.
The Chief Minister has urged all doctors and nurses to adapt -“Patient- First” attitude. “More than doing normal procedures, doctors should adapt “Patient-First” mentality. That means they have to work with courtesy, respect and dedication.” the Chief Minister said. He added that doctors and nurses not bring their bad moods to work. He asked the department to engage an agency to provide training in soft skills to the hospital staff.
