CM launched Plantix today at the District Collectors Conference
Honourable Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu launched Plantix today at the District Collectors’ Conference in Vijayawada. Plantix is an app that allows one to identify the variety of pest affecting the crop through artificial intelligence, just by clicking a photo of the infected area of the leaf/crop.
This revolutionary app can be accessed in Telugu language and covers nutrient deficiencies of 17 kinds of crops.
Peat in association with ICRISAT has come up with Plantix app for smartphones which identifies pest for 17 crops as of now
Smartphone application Plantix for automated plant protection, AI for detection of pests and gives recommendations on how to tackle. Also makes use of image recognition.
1st prototype was very successful with tomato as it was able to identify the deficient nutrient.
Horticulture
5% more land expected to come under Horticulture cultivation in the next 3 years.
Chillies, papaya, lemon, oil palm, coconut yields in the state highest in India.
Tissue culture cultivation increased yields in pomegranate and banana.
Banganapalle mangoes now have GI tag.
50% increase in micro irrigation in the state in the last one year.
AP should become the hub for horticulture
Hon’ble CM instructed collectors to prepare Agriculture, Horticulture and Livestock action plans for each district.
