On Monday, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister met Rajiv Kumar, the Vice President of Microsoft (India), to discuss additional features of the app, Kaizala.

Kaizala is a Microsoft app that was launched in April this year, that allows direct communication between the citizens of AP with the Chief Minister.

At a press conference this evening, the Chief Minister announced the launch of the Anti-Corruption feature of the app, as one of the initiatives to wipe out corruption from the state of AP.

During the interaction, he told the Microsoft team that he wants a two-way communication, that will keep the citizens informed and involved with the activities of the government.

By the end of July, the Chief Minister will directly address the citizens through AP Fibernet, reaching over one lakh users, and announce various additional features of the app,

Public grievances received through Kaizala, will be answered with timely follow ups. “There has been a record of 75,00,000 grievances already, out of which 70,70,000 are top grievances that include problems in housing, ration cards, revenue records etc.”, said Rajiv Kumar.

The Microsoft team suggested that the citizens will feel more engaged with the government if they receive news updates, policy changes and his achievements in real time. The Chief Minister eagerly agreed and added some more suggestions to the discussion.

He wants the people to get used to talking to the government through the app.

He suggested rewarding people that work hard, in every community. “Extraordinary people should be recognized regularly”, said the CM, suggesting competitions photography, film making or performance arts and awards for excellence at work or special achievements.

He also suggested hosting events on a regular basis for the felicitation of the winners, and publishing all updates on social media platforms.

Meekosam, the government initiative to redress public grievances that directly approach government offices, will also be integrated within the app.
