“We are killing our own happiness!”

 It’s a firm statement by Sri Swami Abhishek Chaitanya Giri Maharaj. I haven’t thought of sitting an hour and half that evening and listening another lecture from another Swami from India. Dr. Prasad Duggirala, Founder member of ICCT introduced Swami Abhishek to the temple devotees and attendees. Unlike others Swami Abhishek took no time to get the attention of the small gathering at India Cultural Center and Temple in Memphis, Tennessee. He is relatively very young but very charming in the sense of knowledge. Swami is known as a symbol of Triveni Sangam, embodiment of the 3 paths of Karma, Bhakti and Gyana.

“Every act will have a purpose!” The purpose may or may not be seen the same by everyone and for some it may seem totally irrelevant to the act. I can see why Swami Abhishek has been invited by countries like United States of America, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, and recently, France, and Italy. His knowledge can be seen from his questioning and his questioning is not for the purpose of lecturing. Swami touches our day to day life’s problems, sorrows, pains, laughs, karmas and his answers give you a hope and sooth your soul. Thoughtfully he asks the crowd, Why a child born with illness, is it Eeswarechha? We need to find and understand the reasons for misery.

Eeshawara is an embodiment of Dharma, Karuna and Krupa.

Eeshawara is Sarvam, Sarvagna and Sarva Sakthi.

Swamiji is from Pavitra Bhumi (sacred ground) of Rishikesh, belongs to Jagadguru Sannyas Ashram. He believes that none of our scriptures condemns the Artha and Kama Purushardhas. Rather their role in is negligible in one’s life when compared to Dharma and Moksha Purushardas. Swami explains, the “goal of human existence” should be the liberation but not salvation. Vedas are pramanikam. Sastra is pramanikam for Dharma. Sastras should teach what is karyam and what is akaryam; Dharmam and Adharmam; righteousness or not?    

Indian mythology is not just teaching, rather it’s a dialogue, conversation and discussion. Bhagvad Gita is Krishana and Arjuna Samvadam. Sastram should teach you “the soul’s purpose of life”.  Swami Abhishek well educated, studied Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Bombay University. He is very affluent in English and spiritually recognized as a teacher and guru. The greatest asset Swami Abhishek is that he could connect to all ages. Swamiji says, “one who knows Eeshwara lives beyond Dhukkas and above all Sokas! Pursuit of Moksha is nothing but knowing “Eeshwara!”
