ATMUS Entertainment in association with AZ India Media have acquired the USA rights of ‘Spyder’, one of the most awaited and prestigious movies of the year. The recently released teaser and first single have turned out to be a smashing hit. The teaser is the biggest HIT in South Indian history, owing to its 6.3 million online views on June 1st within the first 24 hours.

Spyder, a spy-thriller directed by AR Murugadoss, features the super star Mahesh in the role of Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer and he has apparently performed the most difficult stunts sans body double. The film will be edge of the seat thriller, emotional drama, high on action, and touted to be the most stylish film in Mahesh’s carrier. Santosh Sivan who is the 5 times national award winner, handles the cinematography, said In an interview that he chooses the film based on story line and team that he is most comfortable with. The Spyder’s technical team guarantees the audience will have an exciting ride throughout the film with its rich content in film making, cinematography, and screenplay which will stand out and makes the movie watching experience at his best.

The film, which is being made on a hefty budget, declared one of the most expensive films ever made, also stars Rakul Preet Singh and SJ Suryah in important roles. S. J. Surya was selected as antagonist for Mahesh Babu. Harris Jayaraj is composing the music. Spyder marks the first time collaboration of Murugadoss and Mahesh Babu, and their combination has worked big time in generating maximum pre-release buzz, enough to attract both Lyca (Kathi and 2.0 producer) and Reliance Entertainment and made business from all sorts of deal, theatrical and satellite rights.

The film is simultaneously made in Telugu and Tamil directed by AR Murugadoss scheduled for release on September 26th (Tuesday) in the US for the festive occasion of Dussehra. The distributor has been in discussion with CINEMARK, AMC, REGAL, 8K Cinemas and other independent theater chains to ensure of the best Dolby, RPX, XD screens in town and make the biggest release in the US.
