CM Chandrababu Review Meeting on Polavaram Project
The Chief Minister presided over the weekly review meeting of Polavaram and other irrigation projects in the state.
Officials reported that a committee from the Government of India visited the Polavaram site on Friday, and was largely satisfied with the progress. They also said that the remaining funds of the approved DPR will be sanctioned in a couple of days.
Last week, 4.01 lakh cubic metres of earthwork was excavated out of a target of 5.53 lakh cubic metres. 21,283 cubic metres of concrete was laid, and the target for the entire month is 1 lakh cubic metres. Out of a target of 20m, 19.2m of the diaphragm wall has been completed.
All rehabilitation and resettlement connected to the Polavaram Irrigation Project must be completed by December this year, said the Chief Minister. He also said that the Engineer in Chief must ensure that all designs of elements in the PIP must be completed on high priority.
CEO of RTG Ahmed Babu informed the Chief Minister that 25 cameras connected to the Fibergrid will be installed in the PIP site. The proposals for the command centre and the integration of the PIP cameras to the RTG State Centre’s CCTV surveillance system will be submitted in 3 days, he said.
He enquired about the progress of all of the 52 priority projects, and instructed officials to stick to their time-bound plans, simultaneously fulfil R&R requirements and complete the acquisition of around 4,500 acres of land, required for all the projects.
