CM meets with Andhra Pradesh CRDA
In a meeting with the Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), the Chief Minister has urged his officials to speed up the work in order to produce some visible change. He said, “We cannot just keep planning. We need to work.”
In the last week of July, the Chief Minister has approved for the second phase of land pooling, adding 14,000 acres to the current 33,000 acres for the purpose of laying out Inner Ring Road.
The agenda included many proposals that were approved by the Chief Minister this Friday. This included the extension of the current Area of Interest (AOI) of 918 acres by an additional 454 acres in Justice City for Master Planning and Urban Design Guideline of Amaravati Government Complex.
The CRDA officials also proposed that the final selection of Architect for integrated design development of Secretariat and HOD buildings in the Amaravati Government Complex is approved to engage Foster & Partners.
For the establishment of schools and hotels in Amaravati, there were a few final bidders, according to the evaluation process carried out by McKinsey & Company. However, the Chief Minister asked CRDA and the research analysts to form a committee and make a list of top 50 franchises (of schools and hotels – Nationally and internationally acclaimed), contact and invite them to set base in Amaravati. He explained that this way, we could broaden the horizon, giving way for more schools and more hotels in the upcoming Capital City.
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), a research institute of national acclaim, has proposed to engage with APCRDA as the “Sustainability Consultant” for the implementation of Green Buildings and Sustainable Habitats in Amaravati. The Chief Minister approved the same during the meeting.
Administrative approval was given to “NTR SujalaPathakam” to provide affordable, safe and potable drinking water to every household in the capital city of Amaravati. The unit will be located in the village of Venkatapalem.
The Chief Minister also gave a nod for the funds for implementing Seed Access Road and 7 Priority Roads through Amaravati Development Corporations.
The Authority also resolved to extend the Employee Health Scheme presently being enjoyed by the State Government Employees and Pensioners providing cashless treatment, to the APCRDA Employees and Pensioners.
The Chief Minister also gave his approval for the Commissioner to nominate AP government officials to undertake Technical Training Programme in Japan under “The Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association” (HIDA).
The Authority resolved that the area allowance of 40% oflabourcomponent for works taken up within 12km from Municipal Corporation,Vijayawada is extended to Amaravati capital city area.
It was also approved during the meeting to permit the Commissioner, APCRDA to participate in the Temasek Foundation International@10 Asia Urban Governance Leaders Forum 2017 to be held in Singapore from 20.7.2017 to 22.7.2017.
