TAGB Presents Sri Krishna Leelalu by Surabhi Theater
For those of us who deeply appreciate our shared heritage, the Surabhi Drama theater group is quite familiar. The group performs plays based on Hindu mythology and the Puranas. There are more than 60 families that are passionately involved in the group. Please enjoy the show performed exclusively for TAGB.
This is an attempt made by TAGB to support artists from Surabhi Drama Theatre group and relive memories.
This video shows a few glimpses behind the scenes while preparing for performing ‘Sri Krishna Leelalu (శ్రీకృష్ణ లీలలు) exclusively for TAGB on 14 Aug 2021.
Surabhi means “Team Work” and it is clear that the actors embody this. Each artist juggles multiple roles. Not only they are all actors, they also do each other’s makeup and make their own costumes and jewelry. In addition, the actors work backstage as part of the tech team, managing lighting, audio, visuals, and props. The unbelievable fact is that the actors are also the background instrumentalists and sing their own songs. The team is incredibly diverse: it widely ranges in age, from 2 to 75 years old; and it includes men and women–even pregnant ladies.
