Press Release for winners of Essay Competition

The Gandhian Society organized a essay competition to mark the 75TH martyrdom anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi along with a prayer meet. The event was attended by many students across america and volunteers from India and other parts of the world. Dr.Sudarshan Iyengar (Former Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University) was the special guest at the event that was also attended by all the members of the Gandhian Society.

The essay competition was conducted by Anita and Brijesh. The winners of the Essay competition on Mahatma Gandhi and his life were Sia Choksi (First Place – 9 years), Mihika Mohanty (Second Place – 12 years), Mansh Gupta (Third place – 15 Years). The winners were selected by a panel headed by the guest of honor Dr.Sudharshan Iyengar. All the Children of the Essay competition were given special certificates and token prize for participating in the Essay competition.

Badra Butala (Founder of Gandhian Society) sponsored the prize money to be given to the winners of the essay competition on Mahatma Gandhi. The Gandhian Society had decided to conduct a winter clothing drive in Atlantic City and Parsippany on February 26th as part of its community out reach initiative.
