HCL Chairman meets CM Chandrababu
The Chief Minister met with the Chairman of HCL Technologies, Shiva Nadar, and reviewed the masterplans and conceptual designs for the campus in Amaravati.
The Global IT Development and Training Centre, will be established by HCL, and has been allocated land in two locations, in Vijayawada and in Amaravati, which totals up to 50 acres. The total investment this will bring in is Rs. 750 crores, with an employment of 7,500 people from AP.
The Skill Development Centre alone, has a capacity of 1,000 people. The designs for the interiors will be inspired by themes local to the cultural heritage and history of Andhra Pradesh. The facade, landscaping and architecture will derive inspiration from Buddhism, Kalamkari and other themes local to the region.
The site in Gannavaram is extremely close to the airport, and the facade will be designed such that the aerial view will attract the attention of passengers in aircrafts.
The Chief Minister discussed with them, the importance of having workplaces that allow creativity. The designs presented to him included bright coloured interiors, re-configurable work stations and natural light. “It is important for regular day jobs to remove physical restrictions from the workplace”, said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Mr. Nadar also invited the Chief Minister to visit the Chennai campus, to get an idea of the grandeur and standard of the HCL campus.
The Chief Minister said that he wants Andhra Pradesh to lead the field of technology. “This morning, VIT-AP was inaugurated, and recently, SRM University was also welcomed here”, he said. He said that the people of AP have a high aptitude for IT, and more of such projects will enable both students and professionals to reach their high potential.
