Spandana Spelling Bee 2018 Winners
Spandana foundation organized it’s seventh annual “Spandana spelling bee” competition in San Ramon, California on Saturday, February 24, 2018.
Addressing the audience, Chandrasekhara Azad, event coordinator and Director of Spandana foundation congratulated all participants and said that it is a pleasure to watch these young students compete so well with poise and are destined for great success in life. He said that we sure can expect to see National Spelling Bee champions from the current participants of this event!!!
A total of 206 students from first grade to eighth grade from various schools in Bay Area competed actively in three different categories of Seniors, Intermediate, and juniors to win laurels.
East Bay congresswoman Mrs. Catherine graced the occasion and praised the work Spandana foundation is doing and for bringing the concept of charity and competition together to help kids train for a better tomorrow.
Founder member Mr. Giri Lankipalle thanked all parents for making this event a grand success. He informed how the funds raised through this event and other events are helping poor and the needy in India. He highlighted some of the programs Spandana foundation runs to support orphans, schools with special need kids and old age homes.
Arya Reddyvari won the championship in Senior category, Vayun Krishna won in the Intermediate category and Chaitra Thummala won in Junior category. In addition grade winners in each grade were recognized and were presented awards.
Mr. Hari Moola Director informed that San Ramon city will be awarding certificates to all the winners. He also thanked sponsors Lavanya Duvvi Platinum Sponsor and other silver sponsors. He also thanked volunteers, Judges without whose support this event wouldn’t have been possible and such a great success.
