IACF 17th Annual Dinner in California
AAADA Booth Visited by Elected Officials
The “All Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse” (AAADA.org) team has set up a booth to promote awareness about consequences of alcohol and drug abuse at the 17th Annual Unity Dinner of Indo-American Community Federation (IACF-USA), which was held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at India Community Center, Milpitas, California.
The AAADA co-founder, Anuja Keerthi Konda, led the team of volunteers at this event in circulating fliers and presentinginformation about the alcohol and drug abuse, and its negative impact from both legal and individual’s health perspective. The IACF’s dinner event was well attended by over 350guests and along with manyhigh-profile elected officials such as Betty Yee (California State Controller), Bob Wieckowski (California State Senator), Kansen Chu (California Assemblymember), Ash Kalra (California Assemblymember), Sam Liccardo (San Jose Mayor), Laurie Smith (Santa Clara County Sheriff),Mike Honda (Ex-Congressman), Nancy O’Malley (Alameda County District Attorney), Richard Lucero (Fremont Police Chief), Alan Nagy (Mayor of Newark), and others.
Several of the elected officialsand city government officials have stopped by the AAADA booth during the event andhad an encouraging conversation with Anuja Konda and volunteers. The officials including Nancy O’Malley (District Attorney for Alameda County), Ash Kalra (California State Assembly Member), Richard Lucero (Fremont City Police Chief), Kimberly Petersen (Fremont City Police Captain), Fred Bobbitt (Fremont City Police Captain), and others haveconversed with Anuja Konda and team to learn about AAADA. The officials were very impressed with AAADA’s mission and activities, and they have praised the young volunteers for taking this important initiative to make a better community.
Anuja Konda (Co-Founder of AAADA) thanked all the officials who stopped by the booth and encouraged the team.
