Cupertino High School Kid distributes food for 100 families at Concow
From 1:30 to 3 p.m. on May 30th, local Cupertino High School freshman, Prajval Sharma, president of the non-profit Mysupportforkids Foundation, donated food to over 100 families in Concow CA, a community in Butte County that was destroyed by the Camp Fire. This fire was the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history and the most expensive natural disaster in the world in 2018 in terms of insured losses. Many residents there have not yet recovered from the impact of this deadly disaster. The current pandemic has made survival even more difficult for the community and presented various challenges for kids’ nutrition as well. Mysupportforkids.org, in collaboration with SEWA International, successfully sponsored and organized a drive-through site for distributing over 100 food packs, hygiene kits, and snack packs that included organic fruit juice, snack bars, and kids’ cereal.
Prajval raised funds for this event by tutoring on weekends and a few donations received from others. Prajval had also participated in a twenty-five-family drive-through event in San Jose on May 27th. More events can be listed on the Mysupportforkids website. He believes that it is very important to give back to society and that he has a responsibility to help others, specifically by doing more to help kids reach their maximum potential so that they will be able to develop into responsible citizens who can one day support their own families.
In order to fund noble events like this in the future, more support is needed. People who wish to support this cause can make donations on the https://mysupportforkids.org website or send an email to info@mysupportforkids.org to become a member and offer support through volunteering. Kids are our future, so let’s support them.
