“Indian American Community Leadership Committee organized a congressional luncheon at Rayburn building, US Capitol recently; The Congress of the United States of America (USA) consists of Senate that has 100 elected Senators and Congress that has 435 elected Congressmen who are the policymakers. These policies impact international and domestic affairs of USA and the Indian American Leadership acts as a conduit to the elected officials.
Mr Madhusudhan, President of Indian American Forum for Political Education, Virginia & member of Indian American Community Leadership committee said this was held to express gratitude and to thank esteemed members of US Congress & Senate for their support in getting a waiver to export critical pharmaceutical ingredients and surplus vaccines to India in her hour of raging Covid-19 pandemic; & also the fact that during the devastating second wave of the COVID -19 Pandemic in May 2021, the U.S. Government delivered on its commitment to stand with the people of India and provided plane loads of medical supplies and much needed equipment and also to extend Indian American community’s strong support to US-India strategic initiatives including the Quadrilateral Security Dialog, Quad initiatives.
In addition, United States pledged to work with India on economic and health impacts of COVID 19 and other common issues such as climate, cyber security, counter terrorism, maritime security and other South East Asia’s emerging problems. The Indian American Leadership committee was extremely active recognizing the urgency in seeking support without any delay.”
