Star Health Expands Preventive Healthcare Outreach in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited is scaling its preventive healthcare efforts across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana through a series of mega health camps. Recognizing the rising burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like hypertension and diabetes in India, the initiative focuses on promoting regular screenings and timely medical intervention. To date, the outreach program has successfully provided health services to nearly 5,000 beneficiaries across major cities, including Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Warangal, and several others.
Comprehensive Health Services:
The camps are strategically organized at community touchpoints such as schools, colleges, and company offices to ensure accessibility. Partnering with renowned healthcare providers including Medicover, Yashoda, KIMS, and others Star Health is offering an extensive range of screenings, including:
Vital Health Assessments: BMI, hypertension, and diabetes screenings.
Specialized Consultations: Ophthalmology, dental, and general medical advice.
Diagnostic Testing: ECGs and lipid profile testing to facilitate early detection of health risks.
Commitment Beyond Insurance:
Mr. Srinivas KBB, Business Head at Star Health, emphasized that the company’s mission extends beyond insurance to actively fostering healthier communities. This commitment is further solidified by Star Health’s Arogya Seva Kendra (ASK) Clinics, a CSR-driven initiative providing free diagnostics, vaccinations, and counseling to underserved areas. In Andhra Pradesh, these clinics operate in Visakhapatnam and Kurnool, while in Telangana, they serve communities in Khammam, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Mahabubnagar.
Digital Access to Care:
To complement these physical outreach efforts, Star Health is leveraging technology to support year-round health access. The Star Health Customer App allows the general public to access free, 24/7 virtual doctor consultations. This feature is particularly vital for managing seasonal health concerns, such as monsoon-related illnesses, ensuring that professional medical guidance remains available to everyone, regardless of their location. Through this integrated approach of community camps, specialized clinics, and digital platforms, Star Health is actively working to improve long-term health outcomes across the two states.
