Is Shah Rukh Khan’s King Release Getting Delayed?
Fresh speculation has emerged around the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s much awaited action entertainer King. Although the film was initially expected to hit theatres during the Christmas 2026 season, trade circles now believe the release could be pushed to early 2027 due to production delays. However, the makers have not made any official announcement.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King features Shah Rukh Khan alongside Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi and Jaideep Ahlawat in key roles. Mounted on a massive scale, the film includes high octane action sequences and extensive international schedules.
According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan’s recent shoulder injury affected the shooting schedule, while the film’s extensive post production work, including large scale VFX and action finishing, is also expected to take significant time. As a result, industry buzz suggests the Christmas 2026 target may no longer be feasible.
That said, the release timeline remains purely speculative until the makers officially announce the release date.
