Pearson Boosts Digital Skills for 1,000+ Students in Srikakulam
Pearson, in partnership with the Srikakulam District Administration, has established two new STEM skills labs in government schools, aiming to provide students in underserved communities with essential hands-on experience in emerging technologies. The labs, located at NTR Municipal School in Srikakulam and ZPHS Nimmada, are set to benefit over 1,000 students. By moving beyond traditional classroom methods, these labs allow students to apply STEM concepts to practical, real-world projects, effectively enhancing their problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Preparing for an AI-Driven Future:
The initiative addresses the critical need for digital literacy in a rapidly evolving job market. Providing early exposure to advanced tools, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), helps students build the digital confidence necessary for future career pathways. According to Shri Swapnil Dinkar Pundkar, IAS, District Collector of Srikakulam, this initiative is transforming the learning experience by integrating technology into government schools and creating clearer paths from education to long-term employment.
Collaborative Commitment to Skilling:
This project aligns with the state government’s broader focus on fostering innovation and skilling from the school level. Vinay Kumar Swamy, Country Head of Pearson India, emphasized that every learner deserves access to opportunities that cultivate curiosity and future-ready skills. By “learning by doing,” students are encouraged to experiment with new technologies, a mission Pearson continues to scale through ongoing collaborations with state governments to prepare learners for an AI-driven global job market.
