Meenakshi Energy Empowers Rural Women’s Health via Project Arogya
Vedanta Power Meenakshi Energy Limited recently reinforced its commitment to community healthcare and women’s well-being by organizing a medical camp at Thamminapatnam Panchayat, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. This initiative was conducted under the company’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Project Arogya, in collaboration with Jayabharathy Hospital, Nellore.
Focus on Preventive Healthcare and Screenings:
The full-day medical camp focused on promoting women’s health through several essential services:
Comprehensive Screenings: A team of medical professionals from Jayabharathy Hospital, including gynecological specialists and general physicians, conducted thorough health screenings for over 100 women beneficiaries.
Medical Consultations and Treatment: The team provided medical consultations and free treatment for Reproductive Tract Infections (RTIs), anemia, and other gynecological health concerns.
Medicine Distribution: Essential medicines were distributed free of cost to the attendees.
Health Awareness: The initiative aimed to enhance access to quality healthcare in rural communities, promote early detection, and raise awareness regarding preventive healthcare practices.

Regarding the initiative, Rajinder Singh Ahuja, CEO of Vedanta Power Limited, stated that community healthcare is central to the company’s commitment to creating meaningful impact. He emphasized that women’s well-being is vital to the progress of families, communities, and the nation. Through Project Arogya, the company aims to strengthen awareness, improve access to timely health services, and encourage early health-seeking practices. K. B. Binu Raphael, CEO of Vedanta Power Meenakshi Energy Limited, inaugurated the camp and urged beneficiaries to prioritize regular health check-ups and spread awareness about preventive care.
Digital Health Initiatives and Future Commitment:
As part of its ongoing efforts to improve healthcare access, Vedanta Power Meenakshi Energy is facilitating Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) card registration in surrounding villages under Project Arogya. This initiative allows community members to create a unique digital health identity for seamless access to health records and services. To date, more than 150 beneficiaries have been supported through these registration drives, fostering the adoption of digital healthcare systems in rural areas. The company continues to strengthen its community initiatives in partnership with the Academy of Gandhian Studies (AGS).
