Nikola Tesla Smart Cities (NT Smart Cities) is pleased to announce that Shri Bipin Shrimali, IAS (Retd.), former Managing Director of MAHAPREIT (Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited), Government of Maharashtra, has been presented with the United Gate Emerging India Conclave – Asia Leadership Award in recognition of his distinguished public service, visionary leadership, and significant contribution toward promoting renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and stronger Indo–Malaysian friendship and trade relations.
The award was presented by Nanda Bhagi Sandilya, Founder and President of Nikola Tesla Smart Cities, during a formal recognition ceremony.
The recognition acknowledges Shri Shrimali’s leadership in facilitating one of the earliest government-level evaluations of the Nikola Tesla Smart Cities concept through MAHAPREIT. Under his leadership, MAHAPREIT undertook a structured review of the proposed NT Smart Cities initiative, following established institutional procedures, and subsequently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore potential collaboration for smart and sustainable infrastructure development in Maharashtra.
The proposed collaboration envisions the development of an integrated smart city ecosystem incorporating renewable energy, advanced digital infrastructure, intelligent mobility, AI-enabled technologies, sustainable urban planning, water management, healthcare, education, and economic development.
Subject to regulatory approvals, commercial agreements, technical feasibility, financial closure, and project-specific implementation plans, the proposed investment potential is expected to range from US$3 billion to US$33 billion in Maharashtra, depending on the scope, number of modules selected, and phased implementation strategy.
The initiative is intended to be developed in collaboration with Tesla Energy Global Holdings Group and other strategic partners through appropriate joint venture structures, public-private partnerships, and applicable investment frameworks.
