BHIM Payments App Partners With Goonj For Meethi Diwali Campaign Supporting Education For Underprivileged Children Through Everyday Payments
BHIM Payments App, India’s homegrown payment application developed by NPCI BHIM, has launched the third edition of its Meethi Diwali campaign to spread festive joy by supporting education for underprivileged children. Running from October 19 to November 8, 2026, the campaign contributes towards providing school kits to children in need of learning support on every seventh transaction made by a user on the platform. For this initiative, BHIM App has partnered with Goonj, a civic and developmental organization recognized for its pan-India dignity-led initiatives across education, community development, and disaster relief, encouraging consumers to make everyday digital payments count for a social cause.
Highlighting the campaign, the initiative reflects BHIM App’s commitment to making digital payments an integral part of daily life while creating opportunities for meaningful impact under the vision of Bharat Ka Apna Payments App. Gaurav Kochhar, Chief of Business at NPCI BHIM, stated that true festive joy lies in bringing happiness to others and connecting simple digital payments with a child’s education ensures every child gets the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream of a brighter future. Anshu Gupta, Founder and Executive Director of Goonj, emphasized that the association connects everyday technology with conscious citizen participation to ensure children receive essential learning resources with dignity. Mehul Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO of SoCheers, noted that the campaign translates the Indian tradition of sharing celebrations into an everyday digital habit that makes a difference beyond the purchase itself. Through Meethi Diwali 2026, BHIM App continues its annual tradition of linking digital transactions with long-term social impact.
