VVPB: Protecting, Preserving and Promoting Vedic Traditions
Houston, TX:Viswa Veda Parayana Brindam (VVPB) celebrated its 8th Annual Event on September 19, 2026, at Sringeri Vidya Bharathi Foundation (SVBF) in Houston, bringing together nearly 500 participants across generations—from young children to octogenarians. The gathering reflected VVPB’s mission to Protect, Preserve, and Promote Sanatana Dharma by creating opportunities for families to learn, participate, serve, and carry Vedic traditions forward.
The celebration began with Guruvandana, followed by a welcome and Sangeeta Seva by the Swarabharathi group. Participants joined in Vishnu Sahasranamam Parayanam, while Dr. Raghu Sarma Chunduru shared VVPB’s journey, vision, mission, and service impact. The program also featured donor felicitations and the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Dasika lakshmi Narasimham garu, who emphasized the importance of preserving Sanatana Dharma and passing its cultural and spiritual traditions to future generations. The chanting continued with a second round of Vishnu Sahasranamam, followed by Samoohika Lakshmi Ashtakam, Harathi, Ashirvachanam, Teertham, and Prasadam.
Established in Houston in 2019 by Dr. Raghu Sarma Chunduru and a group of volunteers, VVPB has grown into a platform connecting Vedic education, community chanting, youth engagement, cultural preservation, and service. It currently supports 14 Veda Pathashalas, a girls’ tribal school in Kovvur, West Godavari, and an orphanage in Vikarabad. Its support includes teachers, learning resources, infrastructure, healthcare, nutrition, and student development. To date, VVPB has provided more than 5 million meals for Vedic scholars and supported over 58,000 Vedic student-years.

VVPB also brings Vedic traditions into community life through Vishnu SahasranamaYagnam and Veda Ashirvachanam at important life milestones. Its YouthWing engages younger generations through mentorship, cultural exchange, service, and experiential learning. The Youth Dyad Program connects youth in the United States with students at VVPB partner institutions, while initiatives such as the Clothes Drive and Suchibala extend service through clothing support and menstrualdignity, education, and access to safe period care.
A memorable finale came with more than 60 children rendering the Hanuman Chalisa, followed by Anjaneya Bhajana, filling the hall with devotion, energy, and joy. It was a fitting conclusion to a celebration that brought together Vedas, Samskruti, service, and generations under one roof.
VVPB gratefully acknowledges its donors, volunteers, families, scholars, and supporters who continue to walk this path of seva and sustain this collective yajna. Guided by the spirit of “Sarve Janah Sukhino Bhavantu”—may all beings be happy—VVPB looks forward to continuing its mission of Protecting, Preserving, and Promoting Sanatana Dharma.
