Star Health Urges People in Andhra Pradesh to Seek Timely Preventive Care This Season
Star Health and Allied Insurance Company is urging families in Andhra Pradesh to prioritize preventive care and seek timely medical consultation amidst rising cases of malaria, dengue, and seasonal fevers during the post-monsoon season. According to the State Health Department, malaria cases rose by 27.9 percent to 7,895, alongside 1,475 dengue cases recorded up to August 30, 2026, particularly affecting coastal and north coastal districts. To address seasonal health concerns, Star Health reported a significant growth in its Home Health Care utilization among eligible policyholders in Andhra Pradesh, which grew over 4.2 times between April and September 2026 compared to the previous year and more than twelve times over two years across locations such as Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Kakinada, and Anantapur.
Srinivas KBB, Business Head for Andhra Pradesh at Star Health Insurance, emphasized that prevention remains the most effective form of healthcare and warned against waiting out early symptoms that resemble viral fevers. The company provides several service interventions, including unlimited teleconsultations for policyholders, the Talk to Star helpline at 7200222333 for care guidance, and cashless home health care for eligible conditions managed at home under medical supervision. Additionally, members of the general public can access free round-the-clock virtual doctor consultations by downloading the Star Health Customer application. Residents are advised to clear stagnant water weekly to prevent mosquito breeding, use mosquito nets, wear full-sleeved clothing, and consult a doctor early for persistent fevers rather than relying on self-medication.
