Sri City Hosts Folk Devotional Songs Programme
Sri City’s Spiritual and Literary Forum ‘Srivani’ hosted a captivating Folk Devotional Songs Programme that radiated spiritual fervour and cultural depth.
Srivani Ugadi Awardee Sri Polluru Jagannadham, a teacher by profession, enthralled the audience with his soulful renditions of devotional folk songs. His distinctive style and heartfelt performances immersed devotees in an atmosphere of devotion, reflection, and cultural pride.
The programme commenced with a Ganapati Prayer and continued with Sri Venkateswara Stuti. Each song conveyed profound spiritual messages — one emphasised that “God does not appreciate devotion without purity of heart,” underscoring sincerity over ritualistic display. Another narrated the transformation of Valmiki from a hunter into a devotee of Lord Rama, imparting timeless lessons of renunciation and spiritual awakening.
Following the performances, Sri City Managing Director Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy and Chandrashekar Reddy felicitated Sri Polluru Jagannadham, honouring his contribution to devotional folk art. Dr. Sannareddy commended Jagannadham’s artistry and affirmed that Srivani Forum will continue to organise such enriching programmes to foster spiritual and literary growth in the Sri City region.
The event drew enthusiastic participation from devotees, cultural enthusiasts, Sri City employees, and guests from Sullurupeta. Amidst the lush greenery and serene temple surroundings, attendees experienced a harmonious blend of devotion, literature, and music. Organisers also offered theertham and annaprasadam to all devotees.
Adding to the spiritual grandeur, the temple hosted a Gopuja Mahotsavam alongside the folk devotional programme. Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Jagannadham, and other devotees participated reverently in the ritual, further elevating the sanctity of the occasion.
