German Consul General Explores Sri City’s Investment Edge
Visit underscores Sri City’s global stature and investment opportunities
Mr. Michael Hasper, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Chennai, visited Sri City on Wednesday and was warmly received by Mr. R. Shivasankar, Senior Vice President (Marketing).
During his interaction with the Consul General, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, highlighted Sri City’s world-class infrastructure and its growing reputation as a preferred destination for global investors. He remarked, “Sri City has emerged as one of India’s premier investment destinations, offering the ideal platform for global investors. German companies such as Bell Flavors & Fragrances, Knauf, and Kankyo Bert are already thriving here.” He Expressed confidence that the Consul General’s visit would pave the way for further German investments, noting that Sri City’s ecosystem blends India’s industrial potential with Germany’s engineering expertise.
Mr. Hasper was briefed on Sri City’s integrated ecosystem, strategic location, modern infrastructure and investor-oriented services. The briefing also covered incentives offered by the Government of India, including tax benefits, subsidies and sector-specific schemes, as well as the investor-friendly initiatives of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. These include sector-specific incentives, fast-track approvals driven by the State’s ‘3S policy—Speed, Stability and Service’, aimed at positioning it as India’s preferred destination for cost-effective, efficient and expedited manufacturing, along with comprehensive skill-development programmes.
Impressed by Sri City’s planned layout, advanced infrastructure, and business‑friendly ecosystem, Mr. Hasper thanked the Managing Director and described it as a global model attracting German investments. He emphasized Germany’s role as a key trading partner, noting India’s expanding market and supportive policies create vast opportunities. He highlighted collaboration beyond manufacturing, particularly in education and skill development, as promising avenues for Indo‑German partnership.
As part of his visit, Mr. Hasper toured key facilities across Sri City and visited the production plant of Knauf, where he interacted with the company’s on-ground teams. The visit marks another significant step towards deepening Indo-German business engagement and reinforces Sri City’s position as a leading destination for international investment.
