Herbalife India Partners with IISc to Launch Multi-Centric ‘Health & Happiness’ Research Study
Herbalife India has partnered with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, to initiate a landmark multi-centric research study titled ‘Health & Happiness’. The study is designed to examine the interrelationships between metabolic health, community participation, wellness coaching, lifestyle practices, and biomarker-based scientific evidence in promoting healthy ageing among Indian adults. Spanning multiple centers across Bengaluru, Mysuru, Hyderabad, and Chennai, the research will engage over 1,000 participants, following each individual for approximately six months.
Multidimensional Methodology and Scientific Framework:
The study utilizes a comprehensive evaluation model to assess biological markers, gut microbiome composition, physical health, dietary habits, and overall psychological well-being. By integrating metabolic metrics with indicators of social connection and structured support systems, the initiative aims to build a localized evidence base tailored to Indian patient demographics. IISc will oversee independent scientific protocols, providing empirical evidence to assist individuals, healthcare practitioners, and policymakers in formulating targeted health and longevity interventions.
Leadership Reflections:
Ajay Khanna, Managing Director, Herbalife India: “At Herbalife India, we believe people stay healthy when they have the right support around them, whether that’s proper nourishment, people who keep them active or a community that keeps them motivated. What we want to know is how much those everyday choices matter as people grow older, and we want the answer to come from Indian lives. Partnering with IISc brings the scientific rigour that kind of question needs.”
Prof. Deepak Saini, Department of Developmental Biology and Genetics, IISc: “Community, nutrition and daily habits are easy to praise and harder to prove. Through this collaboration with Herbalife India, we have the opportunity to generate meaningful scientific evidence by tracking real changes in people’s health over time. At IISc, our commitment is to conduct independent, rigorous research and communicate the results transparently, wherever the evidence leads.”
