H.H. Shree Shivkrupanand Swamiji Appointed Vice Chair of World Meditation Day Governance Committee
In a historic milestone marking India’s deepening spiritual footprint and civilizational diplomacy on the world stage, His Holiness Shree Shivkrupanand Swamiji, founder of Himalayan Samarpan Meditation, has been appointed as the Vice Chair of the World Meditation Day Governance Committee and Chairperson for the Southern Asia Region. Formally announced through a joint accord between the World Meditation Day Association and the World Meditation Foundation, Swamiji represents India as a core proposing nation alongside international leaders, including Acting Chair Enrico Somma representing Liechtenstein.
Alignment with World Meditation Day and AI Convergence:
The high-level appointment aligns with the international observance of World Meditation Day (December 21), an initiative aimed at integrating mindfulness, inner equilibrium, and collective consciousness into daily human life. The official global platform and governance portal are slated for formal unveiling during the upcoming 2nd International Symposium on AI + Meditation, marking an unprecedented convergence between traditional Himalayan wisdom and emerging frontier technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. Under Swamiji’s leadership, the committee seeks to position meditation as a crucial cognitive and emotional anchor in an era of hyper-connectivity and AI.
Reasserting India’s Spiritual Eminence and Soft Power:
Following the worldwide adoption of International Yoga Day, this appointment reinforces India’s recognized role as the global compass for holistic well-being and peaceful coexistence (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam). Reflecting on his vision for global harmony, H.H. Shree Shivkrupanand Swamiji stated: “World peace can never come through any book or weapon; world peace can begin only with inner peace. The root cause of global discord lies in identifying human existence solely with the physical body, which breeds artificial divisions of religion, race, and nationality. True meditation is an inward journey to self-realization where one’s own soul becomes one’s guide. By transforming the individual from within, we foster universal brotherhood and an enduring architecture for global harmony.”
Three Decades of Global Footprint and Institutional Impact:
After spending eighteen years in rigorous spiritual sadhana across the Himalayas, Swamiji founded Himalayan Samarpan Meditation in 1994, teaching meditation completely free of charge to over 3 million seekers across 72+ nations. His institutional impact spans multiple key sectors:
Multilateral & Parliamentary Reach: Addressed assemblies at the United Nations Headquarters and conducted meditation programs for lawmakers in the Indian Parliament, British Parliament, German Parliament, Irish Parliament, Nepalese Parliament, and the Parliament of Sri Lanka.
Academic Leadership: Delivered lectures at premier global institutions including Saïd Business School (University of Oxford), Wolfson College (University of Cambridge), IITs, IIMs, and VNIT.
Strategic Institutional Integration: Conducted programs for the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, Paramilitary, INS Shivaji), state police forces, the judiciary (Bombay High Court), and scientific research organizations including ISRO, BARC, DRDO, ADA, and RRCAT.
Global Honors: Conferred the Global Peace and Wellness Ambassador Award by the UK House of Lords (2024), Ambassador for Global Peace and Humanity by Sri Lankan Parliamentarians (2024), and Global Champion of Conscious Leadership and Meditation by the Asian Media Group, UK (2026).
