“Ranabaali” – Vijay Deverakonda & Rashmika Mandanna Stunning Glimpse unveiled
The makers have revealed an exciting glimpse from “VD 14”, which stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles and is being directed by Rahul Sankrityan under the prestigious banner of Mythri Movie Makers. Today, on the occasion of Republic Day, makers announced the film’s title along with the release date. Ranabaali releasing worldwide on September 11th, 2026.
Before introducing the “Cursed Land” and its legendary hero, makers showcase the Britishers rule on India through intense visuals and a powerful narrative. Rahul Sankrityan’s narration sheds light on the suffering inflicted by the British, especially in regions deliberately turned into drought zones under officials like Sir Richard Temple.
The glimpse talks about a genocide worse than Hitler’s Holocaust and the massive economic exploitation of India, revelations that are bound to strike an emotional chord with audiences. Vijay Deverakonda essays the role of Ranabaali, delivering a fierce and commanding presence, in a new look with a stunning transformation.
Rashmika Mandanna plays as Jayamma. Arnold Vosloo, best known for The Mummy, plays the antagonist Sir Theodore Hector. One standout moment showing Vijay riding a horse while dragging a British officer along railway tracks has greatly amplified the film’s buzz.
“Ranabaali” is being produced on a grand scale by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, with T-Series presenting the film. The movie is set against a British-era backdrop and will be made as a period action drama. Set in the 19th century, the film is based on real historical events that took place between 1854 and 1878, and is being mounted as a massive pan-India project.
Ranabaali is inspired by real incidents from the 1850s that never found space in mainstream history books. Based on Real incidents in the time period of 1850-1900, incidents the British strategically misrepresented in History and characters they maligned as Savages and Rebels. This is not a biopic, and not a textbook retelling. Ranabaali is a cinematic reconstruction of an era built from multiple real accounts, oral histories, and suppressed records.
After successful films like Dear Comrade and Kushi, this marks the third collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Mythri Movie Makers. Following the super hit Taxiwaala, Vijay Deverakonda and Rahul Sankrityan are once again teaming up for this film. After Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade, “Ranabaali” will be the third film in which Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda appear together as a pair.
