Amitabh Bachchan Recalls Struggles During Early Career

Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most celebrated actors in Indian cinema, but his journey to stardom was far from easy. During a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, the veteran actor opened up about the criticism and challenges he faced during his early days in the industry.

While interacting with 2026 Commonwealth Games gold medallists, Amitabh recalled being told that he could not act and was “too tall.” Even after landing acting opportunities, he faced criticism from directors over his performance, dialogue delivery and mannerisms. He said he took every suggestion seriously and worked on improving himself.

Amitabh also remembered an incident when he arrived late for a shoot and found the director leaving the set, asking him to go back. Looking back, his journey stands as an example of how perseverance, discipline and a willingness to learn can turn early setbacks into lasting success.
