ATA Delegation Invites Maryland Governor and Lt. Governor to 19th Convention in Baltimore
BALTIMORE, MD — A high-level delegation from the American Telugu Association (ATA) officially visited the Maryland State Capitol on March 10, 2026, to invite Governor Wes Moore and Lt. Governor Aruna Miller to the upcoming ATA 19th Conference. Led by President Jayanth Challa, the group extended the invitation on behalf of the ATA Board of Trustees for the landmark event scheduled to take place at the Baltimore Convention Center from July 31 to August 2, 2026.
The delegation, which included Conference Convener Sridhar Banala, Board of Trustees member Ram Mattapalli, and Co-Coordinator Zeenath Kundoor, provided the state leaders with a comprehensive briefing on the preparations. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first national Telugu conference to be hosted in the state of Maryland. Organizers are currently preparing for a massive turnout, with approximately 15,000 participants expected to attend the three-day cultural and professional summit.
Governor Moore and Lt. Governor Miller offered their congratulations to the ATA team and pledged the state’s full cooperation to ensure the event’s success. Both leaders expressed a strong interest in attending the proceedings. Furthermore, the conference is expected to see a significant government presence, with several state secretaries and various high-ranking officials slated to participate in the festivities.
