Brahmastra 2: Deepika Padukone in Talks for Key Role
Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra 2 is once again gaining momentum, with director Ayan Mukerji and his team reportedly working on the script for the highly anticipated sequel.
Ranbir is expected to wrap up the shoot of Ramayana Part 2 by January 2027 and could begin filming Brahmastra 2 in April, following a short break.
The sequel is also expected to bring back Alia Bhatt as Isha, while Ranbir will reportedly reprise his role as Shiva and also portray the character of Dev. Adding to the excitement, Deepika Padukone is said to be in discussions to play Amrita, a key character in the Astraverse.
The makers are reportedly planning to take the sequel on a much larger scale, expanding the mythology and world-building established in the first film. Despite earlier speculation that the project could be delayed following War 2, the latest developments suggest that Brahmastra 2 is moving forward.
Ranbir currently has several major projects in his lineup, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal Park. How the schedules of these films will affect Brahmastra 2 remains to be seen.:::
