Drivn Partners with Tata Motors to Accelerate Electric Commercial Vehicle Leasing in India
Drivn, an EV leasing platform specializing in heavy commercial fleets, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer. The partnership is designed to offer customized leasing and financing solutions for Tata Motors’ electric commercial vehicle portfolio, helping fleet operators transition to sustainable mobility by overcoming high upfront costs and deployment barriers.
Under this strategic collaboration, Drivn plans to deploy over 1,000 electric trucks within the next two years. This initiative aims to bridge existing gaps across financing, deployment schedules, and charging infrastructure. Tata Motors brings its extensive commercial EV lineup to the partnership, featuring electric trucks ranging from 7 to 55 tonnes built on the advanced I-MOEV (Intelligent Modular Electric Vehicle) architecture under the Tata Trucks.ev brand. These vehicles cater to diverse applications including e-commerce logistics, port operations, and construction material movement.
Leadership from both companies emphasized that scaling commercial EV adoption requires a holistic ecosystem approach. Rajesh Kaul, Vice President and Business Head for Trucks at Tata Motors, stated that the collaboration will make electric trucks more accessible while meeting customer demands for performance, reliability, and operating economics. Manav Bansal, CEO and Co-founder of Drivn, noted that the leasing model provides a clear and scalable pathway for fleet operators to achieve commercial viability. Additionally, Alpna Jain, Co-founder and Chief Business Officer at Drivn, highlighted that the partnership combines vehicle maintenance commitments, uptime guarantees, and technology-driven efficiency monitoring to build strong customer trust.
