Vi Business Signs MoU with Andhra Pradesh Government to Digitally Empower Over 1 Lakh MSMEs
Vi Business, the enterprise arm of telecom operator Vi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation (APMSMEDC). The collaboration aims to accelerate the digital transformation of over 1 lakh MSMEs across Andhra Pradesh through the ReadyForNext programme. Aligning with the state’s vision of building a globally competitive enterprise ecosystem, the initiative specifically targets women-led enterprises, start-ups, rural enterprises, and manufacturing MSMEs.
Key Offerings and Digital Enablement:
Through this partnership, enterprises will gain access to the ReadyForNext digital assessment platform, educational resources, targeted workshops, and awareness programmes. The initiative will build awareness across critical technology verticals, including enterprise mobility and cloud services, cybersecurity, connectivity, IoT (Internet of Things), and business productivity solutions. These tools are designed to help local businesses assess their digital maturity, bridge operational gaps, and unlock new growth avenues.
Ecosystem Context and Digital Maturity Index:
With India housing over 7.47 crore MSMEs contributing nearly 31% to the national GDP, Andhra Pradesh stands as a premier manufacturing and commercial hub with more than 42.1 lakh enterprises. According to the Vi Business ReadyForNext MSME Growth Insights Study 2026, Andhra Pradesh has achieved a milestone by entering the Top 10 states on the Digital Maturity Index (DMI) with a score of 61.1, reflecting rising technology adoption and ecosystem readiness. Launched in 2022, ReadyForNext is India’s largest digital advisory for MSMEs, having engaged nearly 2.5 lakh businesses across 16 sectors and 20+ states and UTs.
Leadership Perspectives and Implementation:
Commenting on the association, M P Sunil Kumar, Chief Enterprise Business Officer at Vi, stated that the partnership marks a crucial step in equipping Andhra Pradesh’s entrepreneurial base with the digital tools and capabilities needed to become future-ready and globally competitive. To ensure grassroots implementation, Vi Business has also partnered with the India SME Forum. The rollout will feature district-level campaigns in coordination with District Industries Centres (DICs), industry associations, cluster engagement programmes, webinars, and assessment camps across the state.
