Samsung Innovation Campus Empowers 5,000 Tamil Nadu Youth with AI and Tech Certification
TAMIL NADU: Samsung, India’s leading consumer electronics brand, has achieved a major milestone in its flagship CSR initiative, the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC). As of April 15, 2026, the program has successfully trained and certified 5,000 students across Tamil Nadu, equipping them with the essential technical skills required to thrive in an AI-driven global economy.
Building a Future-Ready Workforce:
The SIC program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional employment. By focusing on high-demand technology sectors, Samsung is ensuring that the next generation of workers is prepared for the evolving industrial landscape. The 5,000 certified students in Tamil Nadu specialized in the following domains:
- Artificial Intelligence: 2,200 students
- Coding and Programming: 1,700 students
- Big Data: 600 students
- Internet of Things (IoT): 500 students
Beyond technical proficiency, the curriculum emphasizes soft skills, including communication, problem-solving, and workplace readiness, to ensure graduates are well-rounded and employable.
A Hub for Inclusive Innovation:
Tamil Nadu has emerged as a cornerstone of the national program, accounting for 25% of the 20,000 total youth certified across India. A standout achievement of the state’s progress is its commitment to gender diversity; 71% of the participants in Tamil Nadu are women, significantly surpassing the national program average of 48%.
The training was conducted in partnership with prestigious institutions, such as:
- University of Madras
- Anna University
- Queen Mary’s College (Chennai)
- Mohamed Sathak AJ College of Engineering (Chennai)
- KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (Coimbatore)
A Legacy of Digital Inclusion:
As Samsung celebrates 30 years in India, the company continues to deepen its investment in the country’s digital ecosystem. The SIC program is implemented in collaboration with the ESSCI and TSSC through accredited partners, working alongside other initiatives like Samsung Solve for Tomorrow and Samsung DOST.
“Building digital skills at scale, while ensuring inclusion, will be key to sustaining India’s growth momentum,” stated Shubham Mukherjee, Head of CSR and Corporate Communications at Samsung Southwest Asia. “Through the Samsung Innovation Campus, we are enabling youth to develop capabilities aligned with the evolving needs of the global economy.”
By integrating AI and future-tech across its portfolio and education initiatives, Samsung remains dedicated to shaping a connected, intelligent, and equitable future for India’s youth.
