Amazon India has announced a historic opening for the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026, registering a landmark 100% year-on-year growth in shopping volume and marking the most-shopped opening day in the event’s history. Fulfilling orders from every single pin-code across India, the platform witnessed robust nationwide demand driven by ultra-fast logistics. Through Amazon Now, operating across more than 120 cities, one out of every two products was delivered within minutes, while millions of festive deals reached doorsteps within hours of ordering. Furthermore, affordability took center stage with one out of two customers utilizing EMI options, every third unit earning cashbacks, and Prime members saving more than 100% compared to last year through exclusive early access offers.

Category-Wise Demand Highlights:
The opening hours recorded blockbuster demand across major verticals, reflecting a clear consumer shift toward premiumization and lifestyle upgrades:
Smartphones & Electronics: Premium Android smartphones surged 70% YoY, led by flagship models like the Apple iPhone 16, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, and OnePlus Nord 6. Laptops like the MacBook Neo hit 65X regular sales, while premium wearables spiked 80X.
Home Entertainment & Appliances: Large-screen TVs (55 inches and above) captured 65% of all TV sales, while high-end home theatres soared 100X. Large appliances grew 50X, led by frost-free refrigerators, dishwashers, and side-by-side models.
Fashion & Footwear: Overall fashion sales reached 7X normal levels. Footwear brands like Nike surged 16X with seven pairs sold every second, while Levi’s denim sales skyrocketed 30X. Women’s ethnic wear and men’s apparel also witnessed massive multi-fold growth.
Beauty & Personal Care: Beauty items accounted for one in every four products sold in the first 12 hours. Premium skin and hair care grew 5X, K-Beauty brands surged 4X, and luxury fragrances grew 4X with 12 items sold every minute.
