Chandrababu neglects weaker sections

Calling the bluff of Chandrababu Naidu on reservations to weaker sections, YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that he went back on his election promise of providing reservations to Kapus and other communities and dubbed his four year governance as laden with corruption.

Addressing a large gathering here on Monday, he said, ‘before elections he has promised to provide reservations to Kapus but now he has diluted the issue and has been searching ways to come out of the issue. He assured that Boyas would be included in the Scheduled Tribe list before elections and now he enacts a drama by passing resolution in the Assembly to that effect only to fool people. This is the third time Chandrababu Naidu has passed such a resolution which shows his intent.

The governance has been laden with corruption and he has been cheating all communities and all sections of people and we all have to march towards change and infuse credibility into the political system to discourage people who do not keep their word.’

This padayatra is to infuse confidence among the sections that were cheated by the false poll promises of TDP and is aimed at boosting the morale of farmers, women groups, students, youth, old people and other sections that were neglected by the Chandrababu Naidu government during the past four years.

In course of my padayatra people from various walks of life have told me about their grievances. The model school teachers of this area have complained that they were not receiving salaries for the past six months, municipal employees told me that they were not getting paid for the past three months, 108, 104 employees said their two-month paid was held up, ZP School students said that they were put to hardships due to lack of basic facilities.

The local 100-bed hospital has no blood bank and the nursing staff has been fearing retrenchment, the local maternity hospital faces closure and there is acute drinking water shortage. Chandrababu Naidu has promised to complete Handri-Neva project but failed to complete it. It was during Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s term that 80 % of the works was complete but the TDP government did not complete the remaining part, he said.

The actual empowerment of BCs comes from providing education to that section and when our government is formed, fees reimbursement will be total unlike Chandrababu Naidu who is giving just one-third of the total fees. An additional Rs 20,000 would be given to students towards hostel and mess charges besides implementing Amma Vodi scheme under which Rs 15,000 would be credited to the mother’s bank account for sending her two children to school. This would bring in social change.

This apart, the pension would be increased to Rs 2,000 and the eligibility age would be reduced to 45, he said.

Decentralisation of administration would be implemented by setting up Village Secretariats that would clear all applications from ration cards to pensions within 72 hours and not like Janmabhoomi Committees which have turned corrupt, he said.

The corruption of Chanrababu Naidu government has reached to alarming proportions, he said and asked the people if they needed such a person to head the state with an appeal to campaign for change and better future.
