72.7 Lakh Pattadar passbooks to be distributed by March 2027 : CM
Government committed to resolve long-pending land disputes and ensure secure land ownership for every citizen : CM
Banaganapalle: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the State Government is restoring people’s ownership over their properties by issuing Pattadar Passbooks bearing the official State Emblem (Raj Mudra). He asserted that the government is committed to resolving long-pending land disputes and ensuring secure land ownership for every citizen.
Participating in the Mee Bhoomi–Mee Hakku programme at Banaganapalle in Nandyal district today, the Chief Minister distributed Pattadar Passbooks to farmers and later addressing a public meeting said the misdeeds of the previous government have become a curse for lakhs of families. Lands belonging to people they disliked were arbitrarily brought under Section 22-A. They created disputes to grab people’s lands. The so-called Land Titling Act was nothing but a black law that spread fear among landowners and complicated land administration further. Immediately after assuming office, the coalition government repealed that black law.He stated that the government has launched a mission-mode programme to resolve land disputes and restore confidence among landowners. “The previous government even printed political photographs on land documents and survey stones. We have erased that practice by issuing Pattadar Passbooks carrying the State Emblem. These passbooks incorporate advanced security features to eliminate errors and protect farmers’ ownership rights. This is not merely an administrative exercise but a sacred mission to safeguard people’s property rights.
The Chief Minister announced that by March 2027, the government will distribute 72,70,605 Pattadar Passbooks across 9,833 villages, with the objective of making Andhra Pradesh a state free from land disputes. He further said that the government has completed the Record of Rights process in 1,971 villages covering Village Inam lands and is implementing auto-mutation to ensure smooth transfer of inherited properties to rightful heirs. He noted that several long-pending land disputes in Shettipalli (Tirupati district), Vatticherukuru (Guntur district), and Kangundi (Chittoor district) have already been resolved.
Referring to Waqf lands, the Chief Minister said that 2,074 acres of Waqf land in the Done Assembly constituency, which had been placed under Section 22-A by the previous government, have now been removed from the prohibited list, resolving the issues faced by farmers.
The Chief Minister said the government is simultaneously resolving land issues and accelerating development across all regions of the State, with special focus on Rayalaseema. He highlighted that projects such as the Kadapa Steel Plant, Hero Motors manufacturing unit, and AMCA Defence Fighter Jet facility are set to transform the region into a major hub for defence, aerospace, electronics and automobile industries, generating large-scale employment opportunities. “Royal Enfield motorcycles manufactured in Rayalaseema will be seen across the country. With public and private investments worth nearly Rs 40,000 crore, Rayalaseema will emerge as a horticulture hub,” he said.Pointing out that areas like Lingala in Kadapa district already record high per-capita income due to horticulture, the Chief Minister observed that Nandyal district too possesses immense horticultural potential. He expressed concern over deficient rainfall caused by El Niño, stating that rainfall this season is 22 percent below normal.
Congratulating the Nandyal district administration for constructing an 18-km feeder channel and check dams, he said harvesting rainwater and improving groundwater recharge would ensure long-term water security.
The Chief Minister also said the government is giving top priority to women’s safety. “Anyone committing crimes against women will face the strictest consequences. The Chief Minister accused the YSRCP of attempting to divide society on the basis of caste, religion and region for political gains. He alleged that the previous government encouraged anti-social elements and failed to act firmly in several incidents involving attacks on religious institutions. He also alleged that the previous government had hurt the sentiments of Hindus through the Tirupati Laddu adulteration controversy.
Referring to a recent incident in Adoni, he said a person who desecrated a temple by lighting a cigarette from a sacred lamp was arrested immediately.”Our government will not tolerate anyone who attempts to incite communal hatred,” he asserted. The Chief Minister alleged that a social media personality named Ravan, who insults Hindu epics, makes derogatory remarks about Lord Rama and Sita and supports terrorism and Pakistan, has been receiving financial assistance from the YSRCP.”People must understand the mindset of those encouraging such individuals. If even the Chief Minister is subjected to such abuse, one can imagine the plight of ordinary citizens,” he remarked. He also criticised those who refused to submit the customary declaration while visiting Tirumala.”When I visit a church or a mosque, I respect the customs and traditions followed there. I cannot understand how people invoke ‘Hey Ram’ while encouraging someone who insults Lord Rama.
Ministers Payyavula Keshav, Anagani Satya Prasad, BC Janardhan Reddy, NMD Farooq, MP Byreddy Shabari, MLAs and other public representatives participated.
