Oka Manchi Prema Katha is a thought-provoking film: Director Akkineni Kutumba Rao

Rohini Hattangadi, Rohini Molleti, Samuthirakani, Himanshu Popuri, Soumya, and Ananya Nannapaneni play the lead roles in the upcoming film “Oka Manchi Prema Katha.” The movie is directed by Akkineni Kutumba Rao and produced by Himansu Popuri, with the story, dialogues, and lyrics penned by Volga. Lakshmi Soujanya serves as the executive producer. The trailer of the film was released on Saturday at a special event held in Hyderabad.

Speaking at the event, actress Rohini Molleti said, “I made my debut with Court. I always feel happy to present meaningful stories to the audience. I’m now coming with Oka Manchi Prema Katha, a story written beautifully by Volga Garu. I’ve always admired Kutumba Rao Garu’s film Thodu, and I’m glad he is making another film after so many years. It feels wonderful to act again with Rohini Garu after so long. My character in this film may surprise or even shock the audience. Radha Krishnan’s music is deeply touching—I actually shed tears while watching the film. Everyone has given remarkable performances. Veteran actress Rohini Hattangadi said , “About twenty years ago, Kutumba Rao Garu and Volga Garu approached me for a film, but it didn’t materialize then. When they narrated this story, I immediately agreed. Knowing that Rohini would also be part of it made me even happier. We acted together earlier in a Malayalam film. I truly loved this story. It touched my heart. My thanks to Kutumba Rao Garu and Volga Garu for making me part of such a wonderful movie, and to ETV Win for releasing it. Oka Manchi Prema Katha has found the perfect OTT platform.”

Producer Himansu Popuri shared , “I instantly connected with the story of Oka Manchi Prema Katha. I even played a small role in the film. It has turned out beautifully, and I’m confident everyone will love it.”

Writer Volga said , “I initially wrote this as a short story, but many suggested it should be made into a film. Himanshu was determined to produce it, and Rohini Molleti has been associated with it since the early stages. Having Rohini Hattangadi join us was a delight. Despite his busy schedule, Samuthirakani Garu gave us his time. We were fortunate to find artists who genuinely believed in making a meaningful film. It’s also a blessing that ETV Win picked up our movie. From 1985 to 2017, my novels were featured in Chatura, and I worked for years with Usha Kiran Movies, so having my film appear on ETV Win feels nostalgic. Though senior artists are part of it, this story speaks to today’s generation.”

Director Akkineni Kutumba Rao said , “In filmmaking, the script is as essential as the artists, and the technicians are equally vital. Gummadi Garu’s health didn’t permit him to act in Thodu, so decades later, I approached Rohini Hattangadi Garu for this film. Without Rohini Molleti Garu, this project wouldn’t have moved forward. Despite his busy schedule, Samuthirakani Garu supported us. Madhu Ambat, Radha Krishnan, and Lenin were all crucial in shaping this film. Volga Garu gave us a meaningful story, dialogues, and songs. People today run after wealth but often neglect their parents. I made this film to provoke thought in audiences. It entertains and moves you, without a dull moment.
