Natural Star Nani after delivering the sensational hit COURT – State Vs A Nobody as presenter, is now backing another interesting project, Alias Rukmini, starring Nithiin in the lead role. Directed by Dhandora fame Murali Kanth Devasoth and produced by Deepthi Ganta, the film promises a refreshing blend of romance and humour. Start singing and dancing along, as the makers have kick-started the musical promotions with the release of the enchanting love melody, the first single Ruku Ruku Rukmini.
Composed by Vijai Bulganin, the song offers a pleasant romantic vibe, with soothing tunes complemented by lively orchestration, guitars and violin sounds. The number introduces Krishna’s endearing love for Rukmini, a schoolteacher whom he admires every day on his way to court, where he works. Her presence brings a new meaning to his life, and he expresses his affection through heartfelt words. Despite his confidence in winning her heart, Krishna is caught in a dilemma over how she will respond when he reveals his feelings.
Adding a humorous touch to the romantic track, Krishna even hands over Rukmini’s photograph to the judge while presenting evidence in court, earning a scolding in return. This amusing moment effectively captures how love has completely occupied his thoughts, even while he is performing his professional duties.
Acclaimed lyricist Purnachary pens the song with beautiful expressions of love and admiration, while Anurag Kulkarni adds further warmth with his soulful vocals. The visuals complement the melody, presenting Nithiin as an ordinary middle-class young man and Aafiya Sayed as the charming Rukmini.
Nithiin’s character was introduced through the title announcement glimpse, which caught the audience’s attention with its distinctive humour and unconventional characterisation. Aafiya Sayed was later introduced as the female lead through a separate glimpse, portraying Rukmini as a strict schoolteacher.
Coming to the technical crew- Jomon T. John ISC handles the cinematography, while Vijai Bulganin is composing the music. Avinash Kolla oversees production design, and Srujana Adusumilli takes care of editing.
Alias Rukmini explores Krishna’s life as love brings an unexpected secret to the surface, placing personal relationships and social perceptions at the centre of its narrative. The film is gearing up for a theatrical release on December 4, with its blend of romance, humour and an intriguing storyline promising a different experience for audiences.
