Drishyam: Three Languages, Three Paths
The Drishyam franchise has carved a special place in Indian cinema, with Mohanlal in Malayalam, Ajay Devgn in Hindi, and Venkatesh in Telugu bringing their own identity to the gripping thriller. However, the franchise is now heading in three different directions across languages.
The Malayalam original is moving ahead with Drishyam 4, which has already been officially announced. Mohanlal is expected to return as Georgekutty, with Jeethu Joseph once again directing the film. The announcement has sparked curiosity over how the story will continue after the third installment.
In Hindi, however, the franchise is set to conclude with Drishyam 3. Ajay Devgn will reprise his role, with the film scheduled for release on October 2. Meanwhile, the future of the Telugu version remains uncertain. With reports suggesting that Venkatesh may not be keen on continuing the franchise, even the possibility of Drishyam 3 remains unclear.
If things remain unchanged, the Malayalam version could become the only Drishyam franchise to move beyond the third chapter, giving Georgekutty’s story a continuation while the Hindi version heads towards a conclusion and the Telugu remake remains in uncertainty.
