Sri Chidambaram Garu” Will Connect With Audiences of All Sections as a Feel-Good Film – Producer Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy
Produced under the Sri Chakras Entertainment banner, “Sri Chidambaram Garu” is presented by Smt. Chinta Varalakshmi, with Chinta Vineesh Reddy and Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy as producers and Chinta Rajashekar Reddy as co-producer. Starring Vamsi Thummala and Sandhya Vashishta as the lead pair, the film marks the directorial debut of Vinay Ratnam. The movie is all set for a grand theatrical release on February 6.
Speaking on the occasion, producer Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy shared insights about the film and its journey.
“With the intention of encouraging new talent, we decided to produce Sri Chidambaram Garu. This team has worked relentlessly for nearly four years. The project initially began as a crowd-funded film. After seeing their dedication and passion, my daughter brought this proposal to me. Their commitment and belief in the story impressed me, and we were confident they would deliver a good film. The story appealed to us strongly.”
He further added:
“Sri Chidambaram Garu is a pure feel-good film. There are no loud fights or excessive action. Shot in beautiful and serene locations, the movie offers a calm, pleasant experience. Audiences come to theatres to relax, and this film delivers exactly that kind of soothing entertainment.”
Talking about the production process, he said:
“We set up an office in Rajahmundry and completed the shoot in two schedules — 35 days in the Maredumilli region and 10 days in Rajahmundry. Locals warned us about heavy rains after May, and while surrounding areas experienced rainfall, our shooting locations remained rain-free throughout. This film beautifully showcases the stunning natural locations within our own state, proving that we don’t always need to go to other states for scenic visuals. The local people extended tremendous support, and the houses seen in the trailer are real homes where people live. Everything was shot very naturally.”
“The hero and heroine characters are well-written and strongly connected to the story. The songs have received a very good response. For our generation, good music was one of the main reasons to watch a film in theatres, and this movie has a very pleasant audio album.”
On the title and release strategy, he explained:
“The original title was Chidambaram, but we added ‘Sri’ to give it more respect and grace. The film is being distributed by Vamsi Nandipati. We haven’t sold the OTT rights yet, as OTT platforms usually hesitate with films made by newcomers. We believe in our content and plan to approach OTT platforms after the theatrical release. Initially, we did not plan an overseas release, but after receiving calls from abroad based on the content, the film is now releasing in the US, UK, and other countries as well.”
He also shared his confidence in the film’s reception:
“The film has received very positive feedback from recent celebrity shows, which makes us extremely happy. Under our banner, we are currently working on a major project titled Rao Bahadur and another film with a new director. Our production journey will continue.”
“This week, along with our film, several other movies are releasing. We hope all of them receive audience support. Sri Chidambaram Garu offers two hours of quality entertainment, with ticket prices kept at just ₹99. We have made this film with strong production values and a story that is like a hidden gem.”
Sharing his philosophy as a producer, he concluded:
“If producers select good content and work like responsible managers, no one will face losses. Many films today are stuck without release due to waiting for OTT deals. If we had done the same, this film would have been delayed indefinitely. Recovering investments allows us to make more films. We aspire to create meaningful cinema like the films of K. Viswanath garu. I ensure that no one associated with my film suffers losses — if there is any, I will bear it myself. We will be announcing the sequel to this film very soon.”
