Presented by Bellam Sudha Reddy, the film is written, directed, and produced by Bellam Ramakrishna Reddy. Devagudi features Abhinav Shaurya, Narasimha, and Anushree in lead roles, with a strong supporting cast including Raghu Babu, Annapurnamma, and Raghu Kunche. movie The film is described as an emotionally powerful story, with the makers expressing confidence in its success. Director-producer Bellam Ramakrishna Reddy and actor Raghu Kunche shared the movie highlights in an interview held today.
Director and producer Bellam Ramakrishna Reddy said:
– When I was working a job, I wanted to make a film based on the concept of “Yathathatham” inspired by the BhagavadGita. People usually think the BhagavadGita is only a religious text, but great personalities like Einstein and Dr. Abdul Kalam have said that it is scientifically true. With that concept, we produced a film with Srikanth garu as the hero. At that time, after seeing my involvement in the film, Srikanth garu encouraged me, saying that I also had a director in me and that I should direct films myself. After that movie, I directed Drushyakaavyam. Now I have made the film “Devagudi”. This is my second movie as a director.
– You know how newcomers are often used in the film industry. Based on the experiences I faced with my previous films, I made this movie very carefully. Since I am an engineer, we completed the shoot exactly as planned, with proper planning. The budget exceeded our estimate by just 10 percent.
– Our recently released trailer is getting a very good response. The song “Aaro Aaraaro” sung by Chitra garu is receiving a large number of views. our film is getting the highest digital views. The censor board gave positive feedback. Due to a little violence and a romantic song, the film received an ‘A’ certificate with two cuts. Since I am both the director and producer, I was able to make the story exactly the way I wanted. The film is being released through Suresh Distribution. There is good demand for OTT and satellite rights, and since the trailer release, we have been receiving good business inquiries.
– Many films with a faction background have come earlier; that trend existed about 30 years ago. Though our film also has a faction backdrop, we have shown it only to a limited extent. The story mainly travels through friendship, love, and family emotions. Raghu Kunche garu played the role of Devagudi Veera Reddy. He is a well-known and respected person in that area. He has a daughter and a son. These two children and the son of their house driver grow up as friends from childhood. The film begins by showing incidents from their childhood and then moves into the main story as they grow up. Why these three friends get separated is portrayed with engaging emotions.
– “Devagudi” has a special 11-minute action episode. Along with that, we planned some surprising elements. The movie never feels lagging. Based on real-life incidents, the film has strong storytelling with a sharp screenplay. Each scene flows smoothly. There are good songs, and Madeen has given beautiful music. We are keeping normal ticket prices and also planning to give free tickets to encourage audiences. We hope this will help spread positive word of mouth.
Actor Raghu Kunche said:
– I played the role of Devagudi VeeraReddy, a powerful person in the surrounding region. After Palasa, I have been getting such roles. For this character, I performed exactly as director Ramakrishna Reddy garu guided me. I delivered dialogues in the Rayalaseema dialect. The entire shoot was done at real locations—wherever the director wrote incidents in the script, we shot at those very places. As both director and producer, Bellam Ramakrishna Reddy garu did his job perfectly and spent well for the film. As a director, he executed every scene with great clarity.
– While traveling in a jeep, having around twenty Sumos and jeeps moving alongside felt personally proud. Such moments don’t happen in real life, so I enjoyed playing Veera Reddy everyday. However, during action sequences, there were a few bomb blasts, which were scary.
– The film moves engagingly with friendship, love, revenge, and family emotions. Though it has a faction background, it is used only as a backdrop. Everyone worked with great dedication. When we reached the set, everything was always ready. Local artists also performed very well. I composed and sang one song in this film. Madeen has composed good songs, and he has a bright future as a music director.
– I never planned to become an actor; it just happened. I entered the industry to become a singer. I have worked as a music director for nearly 40 films. I am acting without letting go of the opportunities I get. I don’t consider myself a great actor, but I sincerely try to do justice to my roles. I wish to act in strong character roles like those played by Manoj Bajpayee in The Family Man. Currently, I am acting in four to five films.
