IMT Hyderabad: The Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Hyderabad, recently concluded its Management Orientation Program, ABHYUDAY 2026, with a valedictory panel discussion centered on “Industry Expectations from Management Students: Making the Best Out of Your B-School Journey”. The event featured a panel of distinguished industry experts who discussed the skills and mindset necessary for success in a modern, technology-driven corporate landscape.

Moderated by Mr. Prakash Pathak, Head of the Corporate Relations Office, the session addressed several critical themes for incoming management professionals:
Continuous Learning and Adaptability: Mr. Sunil Punia emphasized that students should prioritize organizational exposure and learning over immediate compensation, highlighting that traits like emotional intelligence, creativity, and learning agility remain key differentiators.
Leveraging Technology Responsibly: Mr. Vineet Shukla encouraged students to utilize AI as an enabler rather than a replacement, noting the importance of integrating technology with critical thinking and authentic human connections.
Building Foundational Skills: Mr. Aishik Bhattacharya suggested that students view sales roles as a baseline for understanding business, communication, and customer-centricity, which helps foster authenticity and a lifelong commitment to value creation.
Cross-Functional Expertise: Ms. Anukulya Panda pointed to the rise of Global Capability Centers (GCCs) and advised students to focus on rigorous classroom learning and cross-functional expertise, while ensuring AI is used for information gathering without replacing human judgment.

During the interactive Q&A session, the panel addressed concerns regarding entry-level competitiveness. Mr. Naveen Rajdev noted that freshers hold a unique advantage through their open-minded approach to learning. Ms. Anukulya Panda further emphasized that recruiters place high value on a candidate’s adaptability and readiness to embrace new opportunities, often equating these traits with the value of prior experience.
The orientation program concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by student coordinator Ms. Manaswini Reddy Kaipu, followed by the felicitation of the panelists by faculty members and representatives from the Corporate Relations Office.
