HDFC Bank Parivartan Launches 12 Community Development Initiatives in Telangana
HDFC Bank has officially launched 12 community development initiatives across Telangana under its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Parivartan. The projects were inaugurated virtually by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri A. Revanth Reddy. These initiatives span over 40 villages across 10 districts and are projected to benefit more than 12 lakh people annually by bolstering healthcare, education, sanitation, and community infrastructure.
Enhancing Healthcare and Education:
The program focuses on strengthening public institutions through targeted interventions, including:
Healthcare: Support has been provided for two government hospitals and three mobile Medical Care Units. Key developments include a 1.5 Tesla MRI facility at the Government Hospital in Bhupalpally and a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit at the Kodangal Government Hospital.
Education: The bank is supporting 74 government schools and 35 government junior colleges. This includes the creation of “Parivartan Shalas” or model schools, which feature comprehensive upgrades to academic infrastructure, digital learning tools, STEM education facilities, and improved sanitation.
Community Infrastructure and Strategic Partnerships:
In addition to health and education, the initiatives address vital community needs such as the installation of 60 solar highway streetlights and the construction of three public sanitation complexes at the Amrabad Tiger Reserve.
These projects are being implemented through collaborative partnerships with the Government of Telangana and various development organizations, including the Smile Foundation, Doctors For You, Ramky Foundation, BAIF, and Learning Links Foundation. Ms. Nusrat Pathan, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at HDFC Bank, noted that these efforts reflect the bank’s commitment to creating sustainable, long-term value and enabling inclusive growth for the communities it serves.
