Godrej Agrovet’s Hitweed Maxx Empowers Cotton Farmers Against Weed Challenges
As cotton sowing continues in Telangana, farmers are facing significant challenges due to weather uncertainty and potential El Niño-related climate variability. These conditions can lead to rainfall fluctuations and uneven moisture, which intensifies the growth of grass and broad-leaf weeds that compete with young cotton plants for essential resources like nutrients, space, and sunlight. A study conducted by Godrej Agrovet reveals that nearly 50% of the surveyed cotton farmers find managing these weeds to be a difficult task.
Hitweed Maxx: A Solution for Early Growth Stages:
Godrej Agrovet offers Hitweed Maxx, a post-emergence selective herbicide designed to manage both grassy and broad-leaf weeds in cotton crops. The product is applied at the 2–3 leaf stage at a recommended dosage of 70 ml per pump, offering effective control for approximately 25–30 days. By minimizing competition during the vulnerable early growth phase, Hitweed Maxx helps protect the crop’s yield potential and supports stronger development.
Commitment to Farmer Productivity:
To encourage timely adoption of effective weed management, Godrej Agrovet has introduced a cashback offer on Hitweed Maxx. Rajavelu N.K., CEO of the Crop Care Business at Godrej Agrovet, emphasized that given Telangana’s role in contributing nearly one-sixth of India’s cotton production, scientific weed management is essential for building resilience against unpredictable weather. The company remains dedicated to providing farmer-centric crop protection solutions that enhance productivity and profitability despite growing climate-related challenges.
