Mahakali First Song- Aigiri Nandini Delivers Divine Energy At Its Peak
Presented by RK Duggal and produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under RKD Studios, Mahakali is the next chapter in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). Directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru, the film features Bhoomi Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sriya Reddy and Rohit Saraf in prominent roles. Today, the makers unveiled the film’s first musical offering, Aigiri Nandini, marking the beginning of its musical promotions on a spiritually grand note. Based on the timeless hymn dedicated to Goddess Mahakali, originally penned and composed by Sri Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya, the song brings together devotional richness, powerful vocals and impressive visual storytelling.
Music director Smaran Sai deserves special appreciation for his exceptional work in reimagining this iconic devotional composition. His elaborate orchestration lends the hymn a grand musical scale while retaining its spiritual essence. The composition gradually builds in intensity, creating an immersive experience that perfectly complements the divine theme.
Anila Rajeev, Geetha Madhuri and Sai Charan lend their voices to the track with impressive variations and energy. The powerful combination of female and male vocals, particularly the layered backing chorus, adds tremendous depth and elevates the overall impact.
The song is equally captivating in its visual presentation, with Sriya making a majestic appearance as Goddess Mahakali. Portrayed in a magnificent multi-armed form against a traditional temple backdrop, the actress looks striking as the fierce manifestation of the divine feminine. However, the most beautiful aspect of the visualisation is the portrayal of the goddess as a mother. Mahakali is seen feeding a baby even while appearing in her formidable divine form. This thoughtful visual captures the two powerful dimensions of the goddess – her unmatched strength as a destroyer of evil and her infinite compassion as a mother.
The visuals beautifully complement the song’s musical intensity, with Sriya’s commanding screen presence adding further strength to the devotional presentation. The combination of Smaran Sai’s orchestration, the singers’ energetic rendition and the grand portrayal of Goddess Mahakali create several spiritually uplifting and goosebumps-inducing moments.
The film features music composed by Smaran Sai, cinematography by Suresh Ragutu and production design by Sri Nagendra Tangala.
With Aigiri Nandini, Mahakali has made an impressive start to its musical campaign. The film is scheduled for a Sankranthi release on January 8, 2027.
