Global Supercross Stars and India’s Top Talent Gear Up for Indian Supercross Racing League Season 3
Pune: The Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL), the world’s first franchise-based Supercross league, has officially wrapped up rider registrations for Season 3, drawing an impressive total of 146 athletes from 21 countries across its four core racing categories.
This milestone line-up features a powerful mix of renowned international contenders and India’s leading Supercross talent, substantially elevating the level of competition while fostering a structured development pathway for the sport locally. India has registered 30 riders collectively across the newly launched 250cc – Group ‘A’ Foreign Bikes only – Indian Futures category and the 250cc India Asia Mix category. Designed specifically to provide a dedicated platform for domestic talent, the Indian Futures category highlights the league’s commitment to cultivating home-grown riders.
The international roster is spearheaded by France with 32 registrations, followed by Australia with 20 and the United States with 18. Additional global representation spans Indonesia, Thailand, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, Canada, South Africa, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, and Mongolia. The registrations are divided across 40 riders in the 450cc International class, 54 in the 250cc International class, and 26 in the 250cc India Asia Mix category, showcasing an increasingly diverse and fiercely competitive field.
Season 3 will feature some of the most prominent names in global Supercross. The 450cc International category boasts reigning champion Matt Moss alongside Jordi Tixier, John Short, Anthony Bourdon, Gregory Aranda, Ryan Breece, Luke Clout, and Anthony Rodriguez. Meanwhile, the 250cc International class is set to star Reid Taylor, Calvin Fonvieille, Justin Rodbell, and Nico Koch. The depth of international competition is further amplified in the 250cc India Asia Mix category by riders like Witsarut Salangam, Thanarat Penjan, Athison Ruadreo, Nakami Vidi Makarim, Ben Hallgren, and Muhammad Athar Alghifari.
Carrying the flag for India are several of the nation’s most accomplished competitors, including Rugved Barguje, Prajwal Vishwanath, Shlok Ghorpade, and Ikshan Shanbhag. Their participation alongside an elite global pool guarantees high-octane racing while offering domestic riders invaluable exposure against world-class opposition on home turf.
Reflecting on the successful closure of registrations, Eeshan Lokhande, Co-Founder & Director of the Indian Supercross Racing League, shared, “The significance of this year’s registrations extends beyond the number of riders or countries represented. When accomplished riders from established Supercross markets keep choosing to race in India, it signals growing confidence in our sporting standards and where the ecosystem is headed. Additionally, the Indian Futures category is central to our vision of a structured pathway for Indian riders, and the response there has been just as encouraging. As the league grows, our focus remains on building a professional ecosystem that attracts world-class talent and gives Indian riders the platform to realise their potential.”
Echoing this enthusiasm, Season 2 ISRL Champion Matt Moss stated, “Winning back-to-back ISRL championships has been incredible. Every season the level rises, the competition gets deeper, and you must earn every result. The fans in India have embraced Supercross in a huge way, and the atmosphere they create pushes every rider to perform at their best. After two successful seasons, I am still hungry to compete and fully focused on chasing another championship in Season 3.”
With registration complete, attention now turns to the upcoming rider auction, where league franchises will finalize their squads from the pool of registered competitors. This critical milestone will lock in team configurations and set the stage for high-intensity action as preparations ramp up for the opening round.
