BondsIndia Leads India’s First AI-Led NCD Issuance for Prisma Global
In a significant milestone for the country’s corporate bond market, SEBI-registered Online Bond Platform Provider (OBPP) BondsIndia has successfully arranged India’s first AI-led Non-Convertible Debenture (NCD) issuance. Spearheaded by AI solutions firm Prisma Global Limited (Prisma AI), the issue closed at a total subscription value of ₹200 crore, unlocking a brand-new avenue for investors to participate in India’s expanding technology and artificial intelligence ecosystem via fixed-income instruments.
Subscription Dynamics & Ratings:
Initially opened with a base issue size of ₹50 crore, the offering drew an overwhelming response from the market, attracting subscriptions totaling approximately ₹390 crore. The tranche achieved full subscription within its first operating hour, with incoming bids scaling nearly eight times the initial target size by mid-afternoon on opening day. Driven by this heavy demand, the ₹150 crore greenshoe option was successfully exercised, locking the final issue size at ₹200 crore.
The NCD issue has been assigned an ACUITE A / Stable credit rating, with Mitcon Credentia Trusteeship Services Limited serving as the official debenture trustee. The securities are listed and traded on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Leadership Perspectives on Market Evolution:
Highlighting the strategic shift in the domestic debt market, Ankit Gupta, Founder of BondsIndia, stated: “The strong response to this issuance reflects investor confidence not only in the issuer and the transaction, but also in the changing India’s corporate bond market. For a long time, fixed-income opportunities have largely been concentrated around financial services and a few traditional sectors. We see a significant opportunity to bring credible non-financial businesses including manufacturing, technology and other emerging sectors to the bond market. As these businesses scale, debt markets can become an important alternative source of growth capital, while giving investors greater sectoral diversification. The success of India’s first AI-led NCD is an encouraging step in that direction.”
Echoing this outlook, Shreeram Iyer, Chairman of Prisma Global, added: “We are strategically focused on expanding our impact in India while leveraging our global technology capabilities and international partnerships. The strong response to this issuance reflects growing investor confidence in AI-led businesses with real-world applications. Our association with BondsIndia has helped us access the debt capital market and connect with a wider investor base. This successful issuance will support our next phase of growth as we scale our technology and expand its application across critical sectors.”
Broader Industry Implications:
Traditionally dominated by issuances from Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI), real estate, and financial institutions, India’s corporate bond market has often left retail and institutional investors with constrained sectoral diversity. By introducing technology-driven, non-financial enterprises, platforms like BondsIndia are actively expanding the universe of available fixed-income assets.
This milestone arrives against a backdrop of surging global capital allocation toward artificial intelligence. Industry projections, including forecasts by Morgan Stanley, indicate that AI-related global debt issuance is on track to rise sharply to nearly $570 billion, as global corporations increasingly leverage debt markets to finance heavy AI-led infrastructure and technological expansion.
